The domain registration spam scammers have been super active the last month or so. If you get a warning about your domains expiring and it’s not from your registrar, ignore it. If it appears to be from your registrar, don’t click on any links in. Use a bookmarked link or manually enter the address to check the status if you are not sure if you. The scammers are using both email and website contact forms.
This image is one of the messages I received. Besides being the wrong company there’s a few other signs it’s a scam: the email domain doesn’t match the link domain, the use of “termination” – most registrars will hold your domain for a while after it expires and put their own page up saying you need to contact them, having a timer based on the receiving of an email.
