Take Back Control of Your Software & Data
Are you paying hundreds or thousands of dollars a year to Microsoft, Google, Adobe and others while they scan your files, change their software without warning, and lock you into their ecosystem? There is a better way.
Not sure what it would take to stop paying Microsoft, Google, Adobe and Dropbox every month? Start with a Big Tech Audit — a professional review of your current software stack that gives you a clear picture of what you are spending, what risks you are carrying and exactly what it would take to switch to open source alternatives.
What Is the Big Tech Audit?
The Big Tech Audit is a written report we produce for your business after reviewing your current tools, subscriptions, and software. It covers:
- Current Stack Inventory — every subscription and software tool your business uses, with monthly and annual costs totaled
- Cost Analysis — your current annual spend compared to the estimated cost of open source alternatives
- Privacy & Security Assessment — which tools have access to your data, what those companies do with it, and any known security or lockout risks
- Recommended Replacements — for each current tool, the best open source alternative for your specific needs
- Migration Complexity Rating — each replacement rated as Easy, Moderate, or Complex so you know what you are getting into
- Recommended Next Steps — a prioritized action plan for which tools to replace first, which to tackle later, and which are optional
What Happens After the Audit?
You are under no obligation to do anything after receiving the report. You can use it to plan a gradual transition over several months, hand it to your IT team to implement or hire us to handle the migration. We install self-hosted cloud tools like Nextcloud and (coming soon) install Linux on local machine the software, like LibreOffice, we recommend.
Who Is This For?
- Small and medium businesses paying monthly per-user fees for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
- Businesses worried about AI scanning their files or sudden account lockouts
- Law firms, medical offices and financial advisors handling sensitive client data
- Nonprofits and organizations looking to reduce software costs
- Any business that has been burned by a platform change, price increase, or account suspension
What Does It Cost?
The audit is a flat fee of $350–$750 depending on the size of your business and the number of tools reviewed.
Why Open Source?
Open source software is built by communities of developers and is free to use, inspect and modify. The source code is publicly available for anyone to inspect. If there is code that sends data to a corporation or scan your files to train AI, someone will most likely notice it and alert the community. Open Source software does not lock you into a subscription you can not cancel. Many open source tools are just as powerful as their Big Tech equivalents – and some are better.
