After building the Knights of Columbus Utah State Council website (aka Utah Knights), we were asked to build one for the Park City Council, #1129. This one started out like the Utah Knights site as a simple WordPress site, built using the Divi builder. We used the Extra theme that was also built for Divi and designed more for articles. The color scheme is intentionally distinct from the state website and leans toward an outdoorsy feel to represent the council being in an outdoor recreation town.
Unlike the Utah Knights site, this one includes eCommerce functionality powered by the WooCommerce plugin. It was originally to allow dues to be paid through the website, but has been expanded. It now can take donations where the website visitor can enter an amount, take simple donations/payments for an event and have events where they can buy a ticket for an event in advance with multiple things on it like dinners, kid’s dinners and drinks. A check-in list is generated for use at the event.
The site has the standard pages, an about page, a contact page and a photo gallery. The main photo page uses a Divi block that rotates the thumbnail photo by the individual galleries link. Once in a gallery you can click on a photo and a larger version opens with navigation arrows, letting visitors browse through images like a slideshow. We also set up the social media accounts for the council, including some smaller platforms to see how much engagement we get. When we make a new post for the website, we share that on the social media accounts.
This site was built in September 2016, so it is almost 10 years old. These screenshots are from the site in the middle of 2026, when a couple of new pages were being added and a homepage redesign was in the works.
